Name:Garret J. Foss

Bio:

Name; Garret J. Foss
Date of Birth; January 3, 1969
Age; 38
Race/Species; Special human – pathfinding and intangibility
Hometown: Fairfield, Connecticut

Physical description; Garret stands at a tall 6’2” with a rugged appearance as he has a chiseled, strong jaw and is built like a brick wall. His brown hair is like chocolate and is easily swept back out of his face, which enhance his warm hazel eyes. Usually you can catch him wearing formal attire of some kind such as button-up and collared shirt, tie, slacks, and nice black shoes. His jacket tends to match his slacks and he only ever wears black socks. Garret has an old pocket watch that used to belong to his father that he wears every day without fail less he’s sick or unable to dress.

PB; John Barrowman

Personality; Because he secretly fears getting hurt, Garret tends to make a joke out of most situations. He tried to keep the air light and friendly but knows he’s just being a jackass a majority of the time. It does not surprise him when intelligent people catch on to the difference between his natural kindness that he uses at work and the bullshit he spews outside the office. While he was trained with morals and the basics of etiquette he chooses to ignore even some of the more sensical things in favor of doing something fun and adventurous. Still, he is a very smart man for the choices he makes. He rarely regrets mistakes because he claims they are “learning experiences” and encourages others to make mistakes, too. There is, however, one mistake he regrets every day and constantly tries to remedy—the Breakup. If he could take the horrible things he said back he would, but unfortunately his ability is not time-travel and he cannot change what he did without taking the steps forward to fix it. He enjoys having both of his abilities and while he has not used them much as of late, he does occasionally keep in practice by finding an old friend. It’s his best way of checking in without having to stop by.

Background; Born in the wealthiest county in America to a pair of lovely people, Garret moved around the world many times in his life. His mother and father were co-writers on research topics and spent years around various parts of the world. He has lived in America, Egypt, Japan, and China. Due to their travels, Garret never attended public school and constantly was tutored by men and women his parents paid to have travel with them. By the age of fifteen Garret had been to India and Australia and had gone through three tutors. Two he forced to quit and one he fired.

Garret always had a controlling streak and when things didn’t go his way, he got mad. His parents never approved of his behavior but could only do so much when they weren’t home to take care of him. They would have long conversation on the phone where Garret would eventually come to reason, nod, and tell them he would never act out again. He was a liar to those kind people. He, however, did not find his never-home parents kind. They were annoying and took their son for granted. “One day I won’t be here when you come back,” he told them when he was seventeen. “One day I’ll be gone! Then what will you do?” They had nothing to say on the mater, feeling like terrible people, and by then it was too late. Their little boy was a young man and wanted nothing to do with them.

Still, he continued to travel for a year more before applying to a university in England. And oh how college did him wonders. Garret liked being grounded and having the opportunity to stay in one place for as long as he liked. Mister and Missus Foss continued their work abroad, leaving their son behind to study. He majored in English and public relations, graduating in the high first quarter of his class. Upon leaving university he got himself a job at a school working in PR. It wasn’t the most exciting thing, but someone had to do it and he was fit for the job. There he met Lloyd, one of the only men he ever thought he loved. Of course he had been with plenty of men and women previously. Garret was bisexual and not afraid to show it, as he was always quite the flirt.

But Lloyd had something special about him. Something different. Garret was never quite sure what exactly it was about Lloyd that was different from the normal person, but he knew there was something there. Something supernatural. He said nothing. It was not his place to bring up new abilities he assumed Lloyd had never discovered—more than once he had used his pathfinding to find Lloyd, allowing him to drop in for a surprise lunch with his honey. Pathfinding almost made it too easy for him to find other supernatural beings because they had a stronger taste than normal human beings. Lloyd was always findable.

And then quicker than he could realize, Lloyd was leaving. They fought and it was a nasty, vicious thing. Garret felt guilty the moment the words fell from his mouth and yet he couldn’t say anything but continue to shout. “Don’t walk out that door on me!” he threatened at the end of it all. “I’m not done with you yet! If you leave, I will find you!” And Lloyd had left which left Garret to take it as over. They were done…and yet he grieved daily for his loss because his heart felt as though it had been shattered into a thousand fragments.

He decided to give Lloyd time to cool off before he found him. It was a long wait but when he thought the man was ready, he Found him with his powers and turned up outside of a bakery. The treats did look delicious, but he only wanted the man at the counter. That was the last time he had seen Lloyd before he’d disappeared across the world to America. Of course Garret knew exactly where he was every second of every day if he wanted to look, watch him drive up the highway and back down. He could keep up the gift for hours. Watching, however, did not abate his affections or addiction to Lloyd. He needed to get him cornered so they could talk. He wanted to apologize. So, looking up the address Lloyd had disappeared to, Garret found it was a school. Oh, perfect. Calling up right away he explained he was in the look for a job and was wondering what their office and admissions had open, specifically something in relation to publicity.

Not surprisingly, they didn't need him for that position. However, upon asking if anything else was open, they told him they could always use more security. As of late strange things have been happening and the men they have just are not strong enough. Even one more, with such new abilities to the group, could be helpful. And so Garret agreed for the position, ready to work almost immediately. He told the school he had one condition, which was he could not begin work until a week before the holiday due to moving expenses and finishing off with left over ties. Closing out on his apartment back in London, Garret moved as soon as he could to Boston and started to fiddle around in his apartment there. It was close to the school where he could drive on a bad day, walk on a good day. He'd been to Massachusetts once before and had not hated it. He liked the culture.

Abilities; In pathfinding, Garret can find anyone with the use of an object that has been touched or belonged to the person he is trying to seek. In many cases he can touch the object with one hand and pinpoint the person on a map with the other. The way it works is that he can see images of where that person is within his mind, starting at the exact spot they are standing. He can see scenery as clear as if he were standing there himself, and after many years of practice can “zoom” out to see street signs, building numbers, or various landmarks that helps him get an accurate idea of where his object of desire is. The farther out he “zooms” however, means he has a less clear image of where the person is and he cannot always see a street sign, almost as if the font is too small. He can, however, narrow it down to a city on a map. If the object he has to sense from does not have a strong enough “taste” of the person, it’s very difficult and often is a bust.

Having intangibility, Garret can walk through any solid object including various kinds of cement, metal, and even people. He would not, however, suggest walking through people as it’s messy and not all that entertaining after the first go. Though he has tried, he has yet to be able to carry people through objects with him. It’s a solo-adventure, he’s sad to say, but at least he can bring other inanimate objects with him.

Weaknesses; Strong shocks knock out both of his abilities for a short amount of time and leave him dizzy for several minutes.

Staff Position; Security
Training/Experience; Mastery in both his abilities, easily bench presses about 200lbs.
Housing Preference; Staff Building A
